BOOKING AN EXPERIENCE

How much does an experience or game cost?2020-09-24T10:24:04-04:00

The cost is $32 per person for any of our in-person escape experiences and $25 per person + $50 for the virtual escape experiences.

Do I need to have a reservation?2022-08-24T11:42:47-04:00

We strongly encourage you to make a reservation. Booking an experience online is the only way to guarantee that you will get the time and experience you want.

We can accept last-minute walk-ins without a reservation as long as there are available spots in an experience. If you plan to walk in for the chance at participating in an experience, you can give us a call at (423)551-3306 to check our availability.

What happens if I do not book all of the available spots?2019-11-08T11:33:00-05:00

If you do not book all 8 available spots, the leftover spots remain open to the public and there is a chance that another group may book with you for the same experience. This situation typically results in a unique experience for everyone, providing the chance to meet, engage, and work with new and diverse people in ways you might not otherwise have the opportunity to do. We encourage the making of new friends and observe it happening often. There is no faster way to break the ice with strangers than to get locked up in a situation that requires everyone to work together to escape before your time is up.

Additionally, if you see less than 8 spots available for an experience, there is already another group booked for that time. Reserving for the same time will give you that opportunity to make new friends.

Will there be other people in the room with my group?2020-01-28T14:11:23-05:00

There will not be any staff in the room with your group, but there is a chance that another group may book for the same time and experience if you are booking for fewer than 8 participants. If you would like to guarantee that there are no strangers in the room with your group, you have the option to either book all of the 8 available spots for the experience or book the “private experience” option when booking your experience online.

Follow these steps to book an experience for exclusively your group:

Step 1: Click here to start your reservation. Step 2: Select the experience, day, and time that works best for your group. Step 3: Select 1 from the “Private Experience” drop-down menu at the top, then select the number of participants below.

*Note: Private event experiences for groups of 8 people or fewer have a special rate of $100 for a classic room (C-Block, Inheritance, and Vaccine) plus $16 per person or $128 for a premium room (the Bunker and the Runaway Train), plus $16 per participant (all before tax). This pricing may vary for private, premium experiences booked for Saturdays. This pricing only applies for up to 8 participants per experience.

Can I book for a day or time that is not currently available?2019-11-08T11:50:54-05:00

If you need to book an experience for a different time than what is available on our general schedule you can give us a call at (423) 551-3306. We will do whatever we can to accommodate your scheduling needs.

We offer a variety of discounts throughout the year. To learn about any current and upcoming offers, follow Escape Experience Chattanooga on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat. We will likely have a deal for you to take advantage of around holidays and special events.

What if I need to cancel my reservation?2022-08-24T11:45:49-04:00

Our experiences are non-refundable. If you will be unable to attend your booking, please contact us 24 hours before your event. We may be able to reschedule your experience or issue a voucher for you to use for another day if notice is given to us prior to your experience.

PLAYING THE GAME

Are we actually locked inside?2020-01-29T12:36:05-05:00

Yes, the doors will be locked while you are inside the experience. However, each locked door is equipped with an “exit button” that will unlock the door. Any time you feel you need to leave the room, you may do so using these buttons.

If you need to leave your experience, you can reenter the room when ready, but while you are gone the timer will continue counting down. You may miss out on some of the fun.

How long is the game?2020-01-29T14:23:50-05:00

That depends on how quickly you can make it out, but you will have 60 minutes of game time to escape for all of our experiences.

We do ask that you arrive about 15 minutes before your scheduled start time. Including the time prior to each game for preparation and briefing and the time after to debrief and take photos, you can plan to be here about 90 minutes maximum if you don’t escape.

What happens if we do NOT escape?2020-01-29T14:37:15-05:00

If time runs out, your game host will enter the room and offer to guide you through the remaining puzzles. You will have the opportunity to see anything that you didn’t get to complete, but you are welcome to op-out of the debriefing to try again later. Your game host will be available to answer any and all questions about your game and can even set up another time and experience for you if you like to try again or play another experience.

What happens if we escape?2020-01-29T18:04:21-05:00

Escaping is an achievement to be celebrated! When you unlock the final door, your game host will be there to greet and congratulate you. We will take a victory picture for you to show off to all your friends and family.

How early should I arrive?2017-04-10T11:42:52-04:00

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scenario start time. Escape Experience scenarios will begin exactly at their start times and being late might cause you to have less than sixty minutes to play.

Is there an age limit?2017-04-10T11:43:16-04:00

No, not really. Participants that are 14 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult when they arrive but are not required to have one in the experience with them. We recommend and design our escape experience scenarios for participants that are 12 years old and up. Younger participants may not completely understand all the puzzles and are more likely to have an enjoyable time with an adult present.

Should I bring anything?2017-04-10T11:43:38-04:00

Everything you will need to escape the scenario will be provided for you inside. You are welcome to bring any items you wish into the scenario, but we do offer complimentary lockers in our lobby to secure your belongings.

Can we bring our phones inside the scenario with us?2017-04-10T11:44:01-04:00

Yes, but you will not be allowed to take any pictures or videos of anything inside the room. You are welcome to use your phone as a tool (a calculator, flashlight, etc.), but it will not be necessary to your escape.

What should I wear?2017-04-10T11:44:29-04:00

Almost any attire is fine. We recommend shoes you are comfortable standing in for up to an hour. You will have the opportunity to sit down in the experience if you need to, but to get the best experience, you will need to be moving around the room and standing most of the time. Our experiences may also require you to bend over and/or maneuver through spaces slightly smaller than a doorway, so wear clothing that will allow you to maneuver easily.

Can we bring food or drink to eat into the rooms?2019-11-07T16:27:34-05:00

We ask that no food or drink be taken into our experiences, and alcohol is strictly prohibited on our premises.

CHILDREN AND INFANTS

Do I need to pay for my children?2017-04-10T11:35:51-04:00

If you are booking (paying for) all 8 spots in an experience, or using the “private event” option to book and experience online, you will not be required to pay for additional participant that are children under 5 years old. However, if you are booking for less than 8 spots in a public experience, you will be required to purchase a spot for every person (including young children under the age of 5).

I don’t have a babysitter. Can I bring my infant child with me?2017-04-10T11:35:20-04:00

Please contact us directly via phone or email if you are planning to bring a small child or infant with you. We do our very best to accommodate a family’s need regarding small children. For any groups bringing a small child or infant we recommend that they utilize the “private experience” option, when booking online. This is both to ensure the child’s safety and the integrity of the experience. A crying child may distract and disturb other participants that are not part of your group, and many items in our experiences could be considered dangerous to young children. Things such as small objects that may be choking hazards, situations that may be difficult to maneuver with a child in hand, as well as general actions and moments of excitement from other participants in the room, has the potential to be dangerous for small children. Much of what can potentially happen inside one of our experiences is beyond our control. Therefore, if you must bring your small child or infant with you, you will need to designate someone in your group to closely monitor them at all times.

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS

What is the maximum number that can be in one experience?2017-04-10T11:37:22-04:00

Our online booking system only allows for a maximum of eight (8) people per room. However, under special circumstances, we can allow up to 10 people inside an experience, but you will need to contact us directly via phone or email to set this up.

Can one person attempt a room alone?2017-04-10T11:36:49-04:00

Doing a room on your own within the hour time limit is extremely difficult, but it is possible if you have a lot of experience with escape games. We certainly won’t turn anyone away that wants to give it a try on their own. In fact, we encourage it. Attempting to beat the odds is part of what makes Escape Experience fun and exciting. However, our experiences are designed to have multiple people in the scenario.

What is the recommended group size?2017-04-10T11:36:23-04:00

Since this is a team building activity, we recommend groups of at least two people. However, a recommended group size really depends on the experience level of the participants and/or what you are trying to achieve or get of the experience. If you are looking for a challenge, and if you already have experience playing escape rooms (you already know what to expect and how to think and act before you get in there), then just two or three people is probably a big enough group size for you. However, if you are brand new to the escape experience world, you might feel a bit unprepared at first, especially with just two or three people. The larger the group sizes the better the overall chances of an escape – typically. Even so, we’ve had a lot of two person first timer groups (some that escape, some that didn’t), and all of them seem to have a great time trying.
