We've Hidden 20+ Engagement Rings in Our Escape Rooms. The Answer Has Always Been Yes.

Over 20 surprise proposals. Zero rejections. Here's how couples are using escape rooms to pop the question — and why it works every single time.

Escape Experience

Escape Experience

There's a moment in every escape room when your team finds something unexpected — a hidden compartment, a secret drawer, a locked box that finally opens. Now imagine the look on your partner's face when what's inside isn't a clue. It's a ring.

We've helped pull off over 20 surprise proposals at Escape Experience. The success rate? 100%. Every single one said yes.

How It Works

It's simpler than you think. Here's the process:

1. You call us. Let our team know you want to propose during your game. We'll coordinate everything — which room, which puzzle, where to hide the ring, and when the moment should happen.

2. We hide the ring. Before your group arrives, our game master places the ring inside a specific puzzle or compartment in the room. It's seamlessly woven into the game — your partner won't suspect a thing.

3. You play the game. Everything feels normal. You're solving puzzles, having fun, working together. Your partner has no idea what's coming.

4. The moment happens. Near the end of the game, your partner opens a box, solves a puzzle, or discovers a hidden space — and there's the ring. The game master can pause the clock, turn on special lighting, or play music. However you want the moment to feel, we'll make it happen.

Why It Works So Well

It's completely unexpected. Nobody walks into an escape room thinking they're about to get engaged. That element of genuine surprise creates a reaction you can't get at a restaurant where your partner sees you fidgeting with your pocket all night.

You're already having the best time. You're laughing, problem-solving, working as a team. The energy in the room is already high. When the ring appears, all of that joy amplifies into something unforgettable.

It's private. Unlike a public proposal at a stadium or restaurant, an escape room is just your group. No strangers staring. No pressure. Just the two of you (and whoever you want there) in a moment that's completely yours.

It's a story people actually want to hear. "He proposed at dinner" — nice. "He hid the ring inside a puzzle in an escape room and I found it while trying to crack a code" — that's a story people retell for years.

Real Proposals at Escape Experience

We've seen proposals in almost every room we have:

  • The Inheritance — The study has a hidden compartment that's perfect for a ring box reveal. It's our most popular room for proposals.
  • C-Block Prison Break — One groom hid the ring in the final escape sequence. She literally unlocked their future together.
  • Runaway Train — Proposing inside a vintage train car at the Chattanooga Choo Choo? That's cinematic.
  • Search for the Cure — The lab has a locked case that we've customized for the ring moment more than once.

Every proposal is different. We work with each person to make it exactly right.

What We Provide

  • Ring hiding — We place it wherever you want in the room
  • Clock control — We pause the game when the moment happens so you're not rushed
  • Atmosphere — Custom lighting, music, or whatever makes the moment yours
  • Privacy — We can arrange for your group to have the room to yourselves
  • Photos — Our cameras capture the room, and your game master can help coordinate someone with a phone for the reveal
  • Celebration after — Take your time in the lobby. We'll make sure no one rushes you out

How to Set It Up

Call us directly — this one's better as a phone call so we can plan the details:

Or email us at info@escapeexperience.com with "Proposal" in the subject line. We'll be discreet — we've done this enough times to know how to keep a secret.

Book at least a week in advance so we can coordinate the details. We'll handle the rest.

20+ Proposals. 20+ Yes Answers.

We don't know why the yes rate is 100%, but we have a theory: when someone plans a proposal this creative, it says something about the relationship. And when your partner discovers a ring hidden inside a puzzle you solved together — that's not just a proposal. That's a story about who you are as a couple.

Ready to plan yours? Book a room and let us know.

We'll keep your secret. We promise.
