Spring Break in Chattanooga: Why Families Are Choosing Escape Rooms

Looking for something the whole family will love this spring break? Escape rooms are the activity that gets everyone off their phones and working together.

Escape Experience

Every year it's the same question: what do we do for spring break? You've done the Aquarium. You've walked the bridge. You need something new — something that gets the kids off their phones and the whole family laughing together.

Spring break + escape rooms = the activity they'll actually talk about

That's an escape room.

Why Families Love Escape Rooms

An escape room is one of the rare activities where a 12-year-old and a 42-year-old are equally useful. Kids notice things adults miss. Adults bring logic that kids haven't learned yet. Together, you're unstoppable.

At Escape Experience, every room comes with:

  • Unlimited hints from a dedicated game master
  • 60 minutes of immersive, screen-free fun (great for team building too)
  • No scary surprises (except Vaccine, which has a spooky theme — we'll warn you)

Best Rooms for Families

Ages 8–12

  • C-Block Prison Break (Difficulty 7/10) — Kids love the prison theme. The puzzles are hands-on and visual, not just word-based. Parents and kids can divide and conquer.
  • Vaccine: Search for the Cure (Difficulty 5/10) — Our most approachable room. Great for first-timers. Note: it has a spooky farmhouse vibe, so gauge your kids' comfort level.

Ages 13+

  • The Inheritance (Difficulty 8/10) — Our most cerebral room. Teens who like brain teasers will love this one.
  • Runaway Train at Choo Choo (Difficulty 6/10) — You play inside an actual vintage train car at the historic Chattanooga Choo Choo. The novelty factor alone makes it worth the trip.

Spring Break Tips

  1. Book morning slots — They fill up fast during spring break week, and mornings tend to have smaller crowds
  2. Bring 4–6 people — The sweet spot for family teams
  3. Combine with lunch downtown — We're on Broad Street, walking distance to tons of family restaurants
  4. Do two rooms — Seriously. Once your kids finish one, they'll beg for another

Two Venues, Five Rooms

Our Downtown Riverfront location at 224 Broad Street has four rooms. The Choo Choo location has the Runaway Train. They're 10 minutes apart — you could hit both in one day.

Book Before Slots Fill Up

Spring break weeks are our busiest time. Don't wait until the day-of and hope for availability. Book Chattanooga Downtown now or book the Choo Choo.

Make this the spring break they actually talk about when they get back to school.
